Ishikawa Kanazawa Open Call for Left-hand Pianists
Entry Requirements
Purpose:
To help create a future of opportunity for people from around the world who aimed to become pianists but are unable to do two-handed performances due to disability etc. of the right hand.
Date/Time: 10 November 2018 (Sat) 2pm - 5pm
*This is an open call; therefore there is no entry fee.
Venue: Ishikawa Ongakudo Concert Hall
Organizer: Executive Committee of Ishikawa Kanazawa Spring Green Music Festival
Participation Requirements:
Performers who use only their left hand. 15 years and older. (any nationality)
Application deadline:
10 October (Wed) （Applications accepted 1 Sep to 10 Oct)
Application method:
Submission of the attached application form (including details regarding your disability)
Application Submission :
Please send applications by fax or regular mail to the Executive Committee of the Ishikawa Kanazawa Spring Green Music Festival (see “Enquires”)
Participation fee: 20,000 yen
Set Pieces:
Thordur MAGNUSSON compositions
From “Scenes of Iceland for piano (left hand)
(Ongaku No Tomo Sha Corp. version)
・II. Highlands seen from a bird’s eye
・III. Dance of the northern lights
Time Limit:
・Set Pieces: II / III (7~8 minutes)
・Free program: A single piece 5~6 minutes in length
Total performance time: Under 15 minutes
Prizes:
Outstanding performers will be appointed as soloists to perform a concerto with the orchestra in the May 2019 Ishikawa Kanazawa Spring Green Music Festival. Or, a solo performance at the same festival.
Expense Subsidy:
The Executive Committee will cover the accommodation expense for one night (for a twin room with your assistant)

Note: Set piece scores are published by Ongaku No Tomo Sha Corp. Please obtain them from the publisher or a music store.
